Ten years ago, I chose this industry because I genuinely love helping people feel confident in their own skin. What I didn’t realize at the time was just how much this career would challenge me to keep evolving, not just as a technician, but as a professional committed to mastery.
After a decade behind the treatment table, it would be easy to feel comfortable. But comfort isn’t why I chose this path.
I recently had the opportunity to attend an advanced master-level training experience in New Jersey. Three full days dedicated to mastering technique, deepening ingredient knowledge, and strengthening treatment targeting skills. I chose to attend because I believe that the moment we stop learning in skincare is the moment we stop truly serving our clients at the highest level.
For me, education isn’t about adding another certificate to the wall. It’s about understanding the why behind every step I perform in the treatment room.
Why this ingredient? Why this protocol? Why this approach for this specific guest?
During this intensive training, we broke down treatments methodically, identifying skin conditions, analyzing ingredients on a deeper level, studying formulation science, and then practicing hands-on application. That hands-on refinement is what matters most. Feeling the textures, adjusting pressure, perfecting timing.. these small details are what take a facial from “nice” to truly transformative. And that directly benefits our guests.
When you come in for a facial with me, you’re not receiving a cookie-cutter service. You’re receiving a treatment that has been thoughtfully targeted based on continued education, updated research, and refined technique.
