Sunkissed without the Sun Damage
Sunkissed without the Sun Damage
have you always wanted to try a spray tan but didn’t know where to begin? or maybe you’ve had a bad experience when spray tans first came on the scene.. we’re here to give you all of the information you need to know about achieving the perfect sunless tan and let us tell you - this isn’t the same tan you saw in “that” episode of “friends”!
how exactly does a spray tan work?
sjolie sunless tanning solutions contain Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar derived from sugar beets and sugar cane. When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, creating a natural-looking tan. It is considered safe for external use and approved by the FDA for sunless tanning products. The more DHA that you apply to your skin when you spray tan, the darker your skin becomes.
sunless tan vs suntan
flawless, even tan
a customized sjolie spray tan gives you an even application, like wearing foundation over your entire body. You won’t have to worry about streaks or an uneven tan, with personalized results that give you an instant, full-body tan.
long lasting results
with proper spray tan care, your color can last for up to 10-12 days. Whether you have upcoming event or just what to maintain that year-round tan, you’ll be able to achieve a healthy glow that works with your lifestyle.
healthier for your skin
your safe alternative to sun tanning, spray tans give you that instant glow without any dangerous sun exposure. Tanning beds and sun tanning expose you to harmful UV rays, causing premature aging, sunspots, and even skin cancer. The spray tan ingredients are FDA-approved, with customized formulas that make your skin look and feel great.
will you go orange?
NO! spray tans have come a long way over the years, even if you were to pair the lightest complexion with the highest level sjolie tan, it would not result in an orange tan.
what can you expect at your appointment
-
you will be asked to fill out a form to help your technician understand your skin and the type of tan you are hoping to achieve
-
once you are called into the room for your appointment your technician will explain how to get set up
-
set up includes: undressing to your comfort level (disposable undergarments are provided, you’re also welcome to wear your own or go au naturel), wearing a hair net, inserting nose plugs (so we aren’t tanning the inside of your nose!), removing any jewelry/remaining makeup/lotions/deodorant etc. and stepping onto our “sticky feet” protectors that prevent the soles of your feet from tanning as dry skin tends to go darker.
-
your technician will begin your service once you’re set up and will do so by applying sjolie’s barrier cream on your nails/cuticles and any dry patches on your skin to ensure an even tan and protect your nails from getting stained.
-
you will then be misted with a spray bottle containing sjolie’s ph balancing mist - think of this as a “primer” for your skin to help ensure the tan goes on nice and even.
-
once the ph balancing mist has had a chance to dry, then it’s time to get spraying the actual colour!
-
once the colour is applied, your technician will air dry you and use the sjolie applicator mitt to blend any spots necessary
-
your technician will then go over “post care” with you and this will open up time for any questions or concerns
pro-tip: a sunless tan does not offer any spf protection. visit: https://www.sugarmoonsalon.com/test/sunscreen to browse our spf products or ask your technician which spf product is best for you.
